Job Details

We are looking for a Relief Dairyperson to join our team and assist with milking and managing our herd of 500 cross-bred autumn block calving cows near Dumfries.

We milk twice a day (4am & 4pm) through a 24-point herringbone parlour with automatic cluster flush. The role involves regular weekday shifts and every second weekend, with typical working hours ranging from 25 to 35 hours per week.

While previous dairy experience is beneficial, we are primarily seeking a reliable, team-oriented individual with good timekeeping skills and a calm approach with cows. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are key, and on-the-job training will be provided for those without prior dairying experience.

There may be additional hours available during busier periods, offering the opportunity to increase to full-time hours for the right candidate. We are flexible with employment terms and are open to self-employed or employed arrangements, including job share options.

For those interested, there is also the possibility of a 4-bedroom off-farm cottage available.
